Ingredients

  • 500g (1 lb) Ground beef or lamb
  • 2 medium Onions, finely chopped
  • 2 medium Tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 3-4 Green chilies, chopped
  • 1/2 cup Fresh coriander, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger paste
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoons Crushed coriander seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 tablespoons Cornflour
  • as needed Oil for frying

Instructions

    In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground meat with finely chopped onions, tomatoes, green chilies, and fresh coriander.

    Add ginger paste, garlic paste, crushed coriander seeds, cumin seeds, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt to the meat mixture.

    Mix all ingredients thoroughly with your hands until well combined. The mixture should be slightly sticky.

    Add the egg and cornflour to bind the mixture together. Mix well.

    Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld and make shaping easier.

    Take a portion of the mixture (about 1/2 cup) and shape it into a flat, round patty about 1/2 inch thick and 4-5 inches in diameter.

    Heat oil in a large, heavy-bottomed skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.

    Carefully place the patties in the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
