How To Cook Crockpot Swiss Steak

Place the steak in slow cooker. Let the steaks cook on low flame. Keep the flame on medium range. Take large skillet and add some drops of olive oil in skillet and place it over medium range. Sauté mushroom’s, garlic and onion over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until folk tender and fragrant. Transfer these tender vegetables into slow cooker. Sprinkle some salt and black pepper over slow cooker on the top.

Take a medium bowl and mix together beef stock, oil, flour and Italian seasoning. Place this mixture in the slow cooker over the steaks. Cook steaks on medium heat for 5-6 hours or if you are cooking steaks on high flame for 3-4 hours.

Stir in heavy cream, cover it properly and heat it for 8-10 minutes. If heavy cream is not cook fully and sauce mixture is not formed than cook for some more minutes. Taste and add some salt or pepper in it according to your taste. Sprinkle with parsley and garnish it with some cracked black pepper. Serve them hot.

  • 1 cup thinly sliced mushrooms
  • 1 medium onion (finely cut into slices)
  • 2 teaspoons garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup stock of beef
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt according to taste
  • Black Pepper according to taste
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chop it finally)

Note/Tips

Cut the beef into slice. Do not forget to look for right size- steak small enough in a 12 inch skillet. Try to cut the steaks about 1 inch in thickness. I recommend you to avoid having steaks in thin thickness because they will cook very quickly and there s chance to get burn early.

You can use any kind of skillet but I prefer you to use cast iron skillet pan which will giver awesome sear on your steaks.
