How To Cook Old Fashioned Potato Soup Recipe
Take a large pot and place t over stove top at medium range heat. Add combine ingredients like onion, celery, carrots, garlic, and butter. Stir them well until butter is melted fully. Cook it for 2-3 minutes, stir occasionally, until onions are translucent. Add potatoes in the pot and after that add some salt and black pepper in it. Cook for 5-6 minutes.
Stir in broth, bring it to a low boil and cook it for 10 minutes until potatoes begin to get soft and tender. Take a small bowl and Stir flour in milk in that small bowl. Gradually add this mixture into soup along with heavy cream.
Cook for another 5 minutes or so until potatoes are folk tender. Transfer the mixture into batches in blender. (Take precautionary measures while blending the hot mixture) and puree until it becomes smooth. Stir back into the pot.
Stir in cheese until completely melted. Taste, add salt and pepper in soup if needed, and serve immediately by garnishing with fresh herbs, cracked black pepper and cooked bacon

You can add any other vegetables in the soup or you can add them as toppings in the soup. If you do not like spices in the soup than you can serve jalapeno in separate with soup instead of adding them in the soup. If you want to make vegan soup than do not add chicken in it. Instead of chicken add some fresh vegetables in it. You can serve the soup with green onions, baked tortilla chips, plain Greek yogurt, salsa, hot sauce, or black olives.

Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 yellow onion (Dice it properly)
- 3 celery stalks (Chop them properly)
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 2 whole carrots (Dice it properly)
- 6 russet potatoes (peel potatoes and dice them)
- 1 teaspoon salt more to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper
- 1 cup milk
- 8 cups low sodium chicken broth (If you are vegetarian than use vegetable broth)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 and 1/2 cups cheddar cheese
- Cooked and crumbled bacon, fresh herbs such as thyme or parsley, cracked black pepper, cheddar or parmesan cheese
